I taught for eight years in Antigua Guatemala, built and sold my own studio, and moved my family to Bali for a life closer to the ocean and the practice.
Ashtanga is my root. I am Authorized Level 2 by Sharath Jois. Thirteen years on the mat, and now motherhood, taught me the rest: when to hold structure and when to listen. Some days call for the full practice. Other days call for meeting your body where it is. I teach both.
Some days ask for structure. Some days ask for listening. Both are the practice.
Her teaching combines strength and grace, knowing when to challenge you and when to offer softness and support. She taught me not to force my body, but to listen with patience. That shift changed my practice, on and off the mat.
After years, this practice changed my life. She studies your body and knows how to guide you. With her I understood that the final posture is not the yoga, and that discipline gives you the foundation you need. In her classes, retreats, and meditations I always find peace.
Irene's love, devotion, and discipline for the Ashtanga method inspired me to build my own practice. She is a teacher of real experience and vocation, and her adjustments are strong yet always respectful. I am grateful for the part she played at the start of my Ashtanga path.
She has been my private teacher for a couple of months, and in that time I have seen more progress in my backbends than in years. She adds drills for mobility, strength, and flexibility, with a calm aura, great discipline, and a very sweet soul.
Practicing and learning Ashtanga with you has been an incredible gift. A beautiful path, challenging many times, but so special. You help me challenge myself from a place of love and from your experience as a teacher, to trust my body and to see myself as strong and powerful, and that carries into my daily life. Forever grateful, my guruji.
I couldn't have asked for a better teacher to begin my Ashtanga journey. She supported me mentally and physically, offered modifications, and listened to how my body was adapting, while helping me push past my doubts. Highly recommend.
Irene is a wonderful teacher. She has a deep knowledge of the practice and knows how to guide you to find the balance between exploring your limits and listening to your body. I practiced with her for several years, and she always inspired me to keep my practice alive both on and off the mat. Her guidance has left a real mark on my yoga path.
